Roxley board games7/19/2023 ![]() The post-apocalyptic wasteland theme I'm pretty sick of at this point, but the art style and presentation is great and some of the game concepts seem really neat (particularly the events ticking down so your opponent can prepare for them and the water which essentially function as action points). So, I'm a total Roxley fanboy and head-to-head card game lover but I'm not sure about this one. Kickstarter link for those who haven't seen it yet I want to have fun with friends with something that isn't fragile & delicate like the stupid cubes & cards in terraforming mars. I don't want to intimidate my non-gaming friends by having the sleeved status of cards transform the game we're playing into something 'more serious' and more 'just for gamers'. I want to let other people who aren't into games handle the game components and not get worried. Yes I want to play a card game somewhere other than a hermetically sealed, air conditioned, and florescent lit game room. If this is the Hive of card games then it'll be great for all the reason's Hive's components are great. Sleeves are awkward and I hate having to sleeve cards I care about, and I sleeve a lot of cards. I get glare from my light from sleeves, anti-glare sleeves mess with the nice art, and I can't play with sleeved cards at a bar since liquid can still get into the sleeve. I would much rather have durable cards that I don't have to sleeve. r/tabletopgamedesign - Designer's subreddit.r/boardgameexchange - selling/buying/trading games.Game of the Week Calendar Related Sites & Subreddits ![]() The simplest use is to bold game names in your comment and add " /u/r2d8 getinfo" at the end of the post, but this post/sub has other features identified.
